Plexi Lo-Gain Distortion Effect Guitar Pedal by Carl Martin

The Plexi Lo-Gain Distortion Effect Guitar Pedal by Carl Martin is housed in a small pedal-board friendly housing with 3 knobs and 1 switch. The single Plexi Lo-Gain Distortion incorporates new DC-DC converter circuitry, so the pedal can be powered by a regulated 9V Power Supply but the circuit works on 12V AC. This allow for the use of high quality components which provide exceptional tone and headroom. Three controls are included for Level, Drive and Tone.  The Level knob adjusts the overall level. By adjusting this knob (in conjunction with the gain) you can match or exceed the bypass signal for rhythm or solo work. The Drive knob adjusts the amount of overdrive, from light crunch; at full counter-clockwise, to full, fat overdrive with loads of sustain at full clockwise. The Tone knob is a high cut filter. With the knob set at full clockwise, you enjoy the full bandwidth of frequencies, so as you turn the knob counter clockwise, you start to filter.

About Guitar High Gain Distortion Pedals

A high gain distortion pedal takes the input from pickups or somewhere along the guitar signal chain, boosts the gain up and then generates a “fuzzy”, “growling”, or “gritty” tone. A distortion effect pedal can be used to replicate an over driven vintage valve guitar amplifier. These high gain distortion pedals have an additional boost feature to take the gain to extreme levels. The pedals can be used for solo work and are a valuable addition to any guitarist hoping to play blues, rock, heavy metal or punk style. The guitar distortion pedal is found on most guitar player pedal boards. There are a wide range of lead guitar distortion pedals and bass guitar distortion pedals to choose from. Review the CKK Flaming Lips High Gain Distortion and the Wampler Dracarys High Gain Distortion Pedal for example of high spec high gain pedals.
