The Xvive Overdrive Fuzz Effect Guitar Pedal (W2) is effectively two guitar pedals inside one compact stomp box casing. Combining an overdrive guitar pedal and a guitar fuzz pedal, controllable from the Distortion control knob. Turned anti-clockwise it has a tube amp overdrive tone, fully clockwise there is a full on fuzz effect. By adjusting the control between these two points it is possible to generate a wide range of guitar tones. By adjusting the Drive Level it it is possible to go from a soft distortion to a screaming, highly compressed overdrive tube amp sound. The extremely long sustain fuzz effect can achieve wide range of tone adjustability through the Bass/Treble control. This is an 18V guitar pedal and an 18V guitar pedal power supply is required.

About Fuzz Guitar Pedals
See below our range of Fuzz Guitar Effect Pedals. A guitar fuzz pedal takes the input guitar signal chain, boosts the gain and then generates a “fuzzy”, “growling”, or “gritty” tone. A guitar fuzz box can be used to replicate an over driven valve guitar amplifier. Guitarists playing electric blues originally obtained an distorted sound by turning up their vintage valve guitar amps to very high volumes, which caused the signal to distort and break up. Fuzz pedals were developed to replicate this sound without the need for high volume and are now a key part of many guitar styles including blues, rock, punk rock and heavy metal music.
Prices range from very cheap to expensive however boutique fuzz pedal designs which are made to a higher specification and quality are the go to pedal for famous guitar players and are common on famous guitar player pedal boards. The price will reflect the quality of the sound produced. Popular boutique effect pedals include the Keeley Monterey Rotary Fuzz Vibe, the TC Electronic Honey Pot Fuzz, the MXR Blue Box Octave Fuzz, the Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face and the DOD Carcosa Fuzz. For cheaper models look at the Caline Fuzzy Bear Fuzz and the Behringer SF300 Super Fuzz.

The Thomas Blug Range of XVIVE Guitar Pedals
Recently, the designers at XVIVE have linked up with German guitar guru, Thomas Blug, who has helped them to create 4 uniquely voiced guitar pedals that replicate vintage tube amp tones. These are:
- The Xvive Golden Brownie pedal gives you high-gain rock tones based around the 80’s style Marshall sound. This high gain distortion pedal is effectively a “a Marshall JCM800 in a box”.
- The Xvive Tube Squasher pedal is a blues overdrive pedal designed around the vintage low gain and fat guitar tones, with a little compression, perfect for bluesy rock tones.
- The Xvive Sweet Leo pedal is a transparent overdrive pedal that is great for use as a rhythm guitar pedal, but it can also conjure up the sound of an old tweed amp being pushed through its paces.
- The Xvive Dynarock pedal is a typical metal distortion pedal that provides a lot of clarity with no mushy tones. It also features a mid-boost that can deliver a frequency response that is perfect for metal and hard rock guitar players.
